Vasectomy Reversal

Hello, My husband had his vasectomy 13 years ago and the reversal was done in March 2007. On one side the vas were connected end to end and the other side required the much more complicated procedure (the name of the procedure escapes me). 6 weeks post op his sperm count was 7.5 million, 3 months later it was ZERO, 1 month later there was ONE single sperm, 3 months later the count was ZERO again. Our urologist just gives us this attitude like "well you get what you get" and says that it's probably a blockage. The doctor has never once examined my husband since the post op exam. So I am wondering how does he know that it is a blockage? The only advice the urologist gave us at the last appointment was to consider sperm aspiration with IVF. We want a child together very badly however, we also don't want to just jump onto the IVF bandwagon and spend countless dollars or emotions just yet. With all the research that I have done, I still have not found one article or other persons story that is like ours at all. Any advice or help would be very much appreciated. We are so very much frustrated.
