long time healing after difficult Sx

I had a vasectomy performed six weeks ago. I can tell you that it was the single worst experience of my life. I nearly passed out due the pain during the 30 minute procedure. I had local anesthetic, but it felt like I was being kicked in the privates the entire time the surgeon operated. I felt pain all the way through my torso. I was in horrible pain for three days following. Still, six weeks later, I am uncomfortable, it feels like “my jeans are too tight in the crotch area and th...Read the full article

I read your post about your vasectomy and I must say that I'm surprised at the pain and discomfort you suffered. I had mine done about 21 years ago. The only pain that I felt was the local anesthetic needle. It stung for a minute or so. After that passed I sat up as well as I could and watched the whole procedure. I felt no pain at all. What sensations I did have were akin to having someone touching or pulling on my shirt. I could feel something but it wasn't pain.

Afterwards I was a little sore for a couple of days but not even to the point of even needing an ice pack. My sex life since then has been totally normal. I couldn't tell any difference at all. I will say that I was told that my ejaculate did not have that "nasty" taste afterwards. I can only surmise that it was due to the lack of sperm.

I hope this helps you.

Sorry to hear you had problems. I did too. Dr. Sloan performed my vasc~ and it was unpleasant. The help didn't remember to give me the sedative until just before the procedure and it didn't take effect until I was leaving. I had pain too but they would not give me anything for it. Ice it I was told with the underlying, 'don't be a baby'. I had some pain pills from something else so I made it thru. The aftercare was not the best really. From that point on my testes are extremely sensitive and often if I barely touch some spot it feels like I've been kicked. No Way will I let anyone else touch them. The sensitivity varies but less than occasionally if I move wrong I get racked. I can't wear too tight of pants and 'it' can strike at any time trust me. I have been to another urologist and was told that is the way it is. No explanation for what is wrong because they don't know but expect to take it to the grave. Idiopathic I think one doc called it. Talking to most guys they all have glowing reports of how great it was and no problems since and I'm happy for them; however, I wanted anyone that checks it out to know it is not always the case. I would never have done it if I had half a clue this even could happen. It was not worth it.
