How soon can I have sex after a vasectomy?

I had a vasectomy on Friday. Long story short, I went to two different urologists before deciding on one. One told me I could have sex "as soon as you want to," after a couple of days. But the one that I had the prodecure with says one week. Since it has been five days, is it too soon to think about it? Are there complications with it? Should I expect it to hurt when I ejaculate? I don't want to mess something up for life.
