lower abdomen pain in conjunction with varicoceleHello, I have had a "sack of noodles" for about 16 years. Recently I went to the doctor and he just confirmed what I already knew. Upon reading all the posts, nobody mentioned lower abdomen pain as a side effect to the varicocele Does anyone out there periodically get a pulling pain in the lower abdomen? I had a hydrocele (water on the nut) when I was 17 (now 33) and had surgery to remove it. When I was 25 I had a vasectomy and at that point the Dr. was not that concerned about the varicocele Usually I don't have any pain but it seems that now I can never get comfortable. Also every so often I get blood in my seamen. If anyone out there has similiar issues please write about them. This is a cool forum, I'm glad i stumbled on it.
Re: lower abdomen pain in conjunction with varicoceleI actually posted something a while back in this same forum under the "sack of noodles" moniker, so I can concur ... the pain I experience is sometimes there, a low dull ache, but I also feel it in my scrotum and testicles at times, usually after much physical strenuous activities, or being on my feet all day long. And I take it by your nickname in here, 'Bigapples', that you perhaps have larger than average testicles too, like me, real big lowhangers ... I have found that eventhough I prefer to either wear boxers to let them hang free, or go "commando" as it were, that the boxer-brief style of underwear helps support them enough, since I find wearing a jock-strap is too confining. You also have an alternative in a suspensory, which alot of men don't know about ... its basically like a jockstrap for just the testicles, allowing the penis to hang free out of an opening in the front. Perhaps providing your 'apples' with a bit more support might help with the pain.
Re: lower abdomen pain in conjunction with varicoceleYeah. the pulling pain sucks and is very annoying. I have yet to try a suspensory myself. I too prefer boxers, but sometimes the pain wins.
The reason you feel it in your abdomen is because your spermatic cord exits the abdominal's muscular wall about where your penis comes out. Even though it looks like your testes come out from below your penis, they actually hang from the sides of it. I didn't Know this until seeing pix of the BodyWorlds exhibit. Seeing the skinless bodies of the men gives you an actual image of what is where. Try Google-ing it and seeing for yourself.
